Description
This lovely lavender hued rhododendron is called Blue Jay. Why so many rhodies that look purple are called "blue" I have no idea. But nonetheless, it is a lovely specimen.
This is located in the "Tribute Bed" at Homestead Park here in University Place and it was placed there in honor of Harriet Jean, the mother of Bob Jean, our former city's manager. My mother had one placed there in honor of her mother, now deceased. That one is called "Eugene", where mom was born and raised.
