I think these are a species of rhododendron, but cannot remember if it is or not. I did find these at the Rhododendron Species Foundation in Federal Way in one of the greenhouses. To me they seem to have a bit of a succulent look about them....I loved how these looked, reminding me of tiny chinese lanterns.
