The Big and Middle sisters of the Three Sisters in the Cascade Mountain range, Oregon, as seen from the Dee Wright Observatory in the lava beds of the McKenzie Pass. The haziness at the base of the mountains was due to a forest fire that had occurred recently near Sisters, Oregon.
Long time resident of the city of University Place, Washington, Chris Anderson has specialized in capturing the scenic beauty of her city and surrounding locales. She has embraced the painterly feel of HDR and uses it often in her craft, along with other post production layering and filtering techniques. Much of her work is of the award winning, links style golf course "Chambers Bay", home of the 2010 US Amateur and 2015 US Opens. It's not so much the mountains that make this photograph work -- it's the rocks in the foreground. This is a volcanic landscape, and the rocks really give the viewer the impression of the violent history that made this place. Nicely done!! :) F/V
